Now You See Me Now You Don’t is a very worthy addition to the series of magical heist movies.
If you’ve seen the first two movies, you’ll know all about the Four Horsemen; if not, where have you been?
The Four Horsemen are a group of illusionists made up of J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco) and Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson). In true Pied Pier form, they rob from the rich and give to the poor. Behind the scenes, they’re aided by Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman). But this time there’s been a change.
Three new young illusionists have entered their turf: June (Ariana Greenblatt), Bosco (Dominic Sessa) and Charlie (Justice Smith). How will the old guard react?
Add in baddie Veronika Vanderberg (Rosamund Pike), who has an intense lust for diamonds. Well, you know what they say about girls and diamonds?
It was fantastic to see the old team back again. The new crew held their own and then some. Justice Smith was utterly believable from beginning to end. It was also refreshing to see a female baddie. Rosamund Pike stole the show as the greedy South African. Clearly, watching magic tricks doesn’t get old. You can’t look away or you’ll miss something. The movie also offers a class in how to extend a movie series to a new generation by adding a new generation into the movie.
