A revival of Sex and The City is coming to HBO Max
Grab your cosmos and gather the girls, Sex and The City is back!
That’s right, the beloved show that shaped a generation of young women is hitting our screens again answering the question we’re all dying to know….where are they now?
A 10-episode revival is in the works and will be titled “And Just Like That…” with our faves Miranda, Carrie and Charlotte confirming they’ll be joining the crew.
The release date is still unknown, but production is now officially underway and we couldn’t be more excited.

What we know
Sex and The City was a hit TV series created by Darren Star that was also turned into a film and sequel in 2008 and 2010.
Rumours were circling last December that a reboot was coming and lucky for us those rumours were true!
Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) gave fans a sneak peek on Instagram with Kristin Davis (Charlotte) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) by her side and a link to an Instagram page for the series.
The revival will be a new chapter entirely and focus on Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda as they navigate the reality of life and relationships in their 50’s.
Parker, Nixon and David will executive-produce alongside Michael Patrick King, writer and director of the movies.
The OG Cast is back
You can expect to see plenty of familiar faces in the reboot with Miranda, Carrie and Charlotte at the centre.
Unfortunately, the amazing and bold Samantha (Kim Cattrell) will not be returning and although we’re super bummed about that at least we’ve got 3/4.
Others you can expect to see include the colourful Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson), Charlotte’s firey BFF Anthony Marentino (Mario Cantone), Miranda’s bartender boyfriend-turned-husband Steve Brady (David Eisenberg), the adored Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler) and of course the Mr. Big (Chris North) himself has confirmed his own return.
Carrie’s ex-love interest Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) has also stated his involvement in the show although this hasn’t been officially confirmed by the network.
And some new faces!
The writers are apparently expanding the original trio’s social circle with some new characters apparently joining the star-studded cast.
We are super pleased to hear that the new additions will all be people of colour in an effort to make the show more inclusive and realistic.
The first new character to be confirmed is a familiar face to Greys Anatomy fans- Sara Ramirez, who is well-known for her role as Dr. Callie Torres, will play comedian and podcast host Che Diaz in the series.
When will Sex and the City ‘And Just Like That’ be released?
No official release date has been given yet, but it has already begun production with Parker posting a snap of their first table read on her feed.
One things for sure, girls night is going to be marked on the calendar as soon as we know when we can catch the premiere.
