Set sail with the crew as Netflix releases the first One Piece trailer ahead of the August release date.
This live-action rendition brings to life the beloved Japanese manga One Piece. The series, consisting of eight thrilling episodes, features Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Fans got their first glimpse of the series at Netflix’s Tudum 2023 event in Brazil, and the show is slated to hit the streaming platform on August 31st.
One Piece Plot
The plot revolves around the adventures of Luffy, a young man striving to become the pirate king. Along the way, he’s joined by a band of friends who assist him in his thrilling quest for treasure.
Eiichiro Oda
Eiichiro Oda, the genius behind the original One Piece manga, serves as an executive producer on the series. He has been closely collaborating with Netflix to ensure the adaptation aligns with his original vision.
Oda sees this as a golden opportunity to introduce One Piece to a global audience. “I believe this is the last chance to bring One Piece to the entire world,” he stated. “If we’re going to do it, I want to be able to supervise things while I’m still active.”
One Piece Cast
The series also boasts an impressive lineup of additional cast members, including McKinley Belcher III, Morgan Davies, Aidan Scott, Vincent Regan, Jeff Ward, Craig Fairbrass, Langley Kirkwood, Celeste Loots, Alexander Maniatis, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Chioma Umeala, and Steven Ward.
