Our burning questions for Ted Lasso Season 3.
So you binged your way through Ted Lasso (no judgement) and now entering a period we call ‘Cold Ted Turkey’. We feel you. The positive news though, is that filming for Ted Lasso Season 3 is imminent, with a return to our screens. Hoorah!
What Season 3 brings we’re yet to discover, but there are a few burning questions on our mind…
1. Will Roy and Keeley stay together?
In a scene that we can all relate to, Roy and Keeley had a moment at the photo shoot where their relationship felt like it was on the brink of extinction. We don’t know if it was an off-the-cuff moment that escalated or deeper problems brewing – after all, Roy had been flirting with his niece’s teacher and Jamie did confess his love for Keeley.
To top this all off, the power couple decides to spend the summer apart, with Keeley in the UK setting up her PR agency, and Roy in sunnier climes. We can only hope for two things – this isn’t the beginning of the end, and that we get to see Kent’s tan lines…
2. What will Trent do next?
At the end of Season 2, we saw Trent Crimm “The Independent”, fall on his sword as he revealed Nate as the source of Ted’s anxiety breakdown.
A no-go in journalistic terms, it seems unlikely that Trent’s reputation can come back from it, which opens the doors for new opportunities. Possibly a TV pundit, or perhaps even a coach at A.F.C Richmond? Either way, we hope he makes a return (are you reading Ted Lasso writers!?)
3. Is Nate set to be the arch enemy?
Something tells us that Nate is the new enemy in Ted Lasso Season 3. After his sharp exit and brewing resentment towards Ted, his position could no longer be attainable, so off he skipped to arch enemies West Ham.
As you will remember, this is now headed up by fellow enemy Rupert, making it a double-whammy in the badness stakes. Time will tell if this new-age Nate is the true man behind the tracksuit, or if he’ll redeem himself and all will be forgiven.
4. Will Sam and Rebecca rekindle their romance?
Tell us already, will one of our favourite couples from the Ted Laso cast rekindle their romance? We can’t help but remain optimistic.
Rebecca’s been through a tough time, but she’s slowly allowing herself to open up and be happy again. If only she can give Sam a go, we think it could be a defining moment of the series. Plus, with Sam now a business owner of a high-end restaurant, there’s plenty of new places to wine and dine her. We stay hopeful.
5. Who will Ted’s love interest be?
Of course, if it doesn’t work out with Sam, we don’t mind if Ted gets together with Rebecca. They have a solid relationship and spent last Christmas together after all.
We can’t help but wonder who his love interest will be this season – could it be a return of good-time-girl Sassy, or maybe even close friend Doctor Sharon? There could even be a new member of the Ted Lasso cast. Either way, it’s one of the storylines we’re most looking forward to seeing since ultimately we’re always rooting for Ted. #Believe
6. Will AFC Richmond face West Ham?
With it being a football programme and all, there are probably some football storylines to look forward to. We can’t help but wonder will there be a showdown with the greyhounds against the boys of West Ham? It’s the derby we’re all expecting, with tension both on and off the pitch.
We’re not the betting type, but if we were, our guess would be AFC V West Ham in the final episode.
7. When does Ted Lasso Season 3 start?
But perhaps the most pressing question of all, is when can we expect to get our next dose of Lasso?
With production almost underway, reports suggest that Ted Lasso on Apple TV will return this summer. This would be keeping with previous seasons that also launched in the summer. At last, something to look forward to when the football season ends.
